Apple Releases iOS 5 Deployment Guide for Education
Apple just released a 38 page guide to help school personnel deploy and support iOS devices including iPads. The guide addresses Preparing for Deployment, Wi-Fi Network Design, Configuration and Management, Purchasing Content and Deployment Strategies. You can find the PDF document here.
Please, at least for educational systems, allow for updates to automatically be pushed through to the ipads…we can push the initial app installation but not the constant upadates that they require.
Individual iPads could be updated using Wi-Fi sync. If I understand correctly, you would like simultaneous, centralized app updates that you control.
I am wanting to get my 5 year old granddaughter an I-Pad. She is being home schooled, I think this would be GREAT! What do you suggest?
Least expensive Wi-Fi model (16GB). New models (iPad 3) will be announced soon. Wait until then and you should be able to find an iPad 2 at a reduced price. Also purchase a case to protect the iPad. Here are a few recommendations – http://a4cwsn.com/ipad-cases/
